Foreign Policy
Gary thinks that after all of these years of fighting with Afganistan, every troop should return home and leave the people of Afganistan to deal with their own challenges. He thinks that troops should only be where it is necessary to be and in this case he thinks they should be home because they are scattered throughout the world now. Gary says that we can achieve our foreign policy goals without sacrificing American lives. He thinks that we should be kind to captured criminals or terrorists and we should allow all detained people ,even if they are not American, the right to a trial. He believes that this will achieve our foriegn policy goals.
I agree with Gary's views on troops and how they should come home wherever they may be because it is a waste of money to have them in the world where they aren't needed. However, I disagree strongly with his views on achieving our foreign policy goals. Terrorists and criminals from other countries should not be treated so well for they are attempting to do something awful to our country and its citizens. Also, the right to a trial is for American citizens and if they are not American, they do not deserve to be protected by our countries rights. This is one point in Gary's foreign policy where I disagree strongly with him but his policy on the subject is overall mediocre.
